Aerial Image Acquisition Process

The aerial image acquisition process comprises a number of steps. These are as follows:

  1. Mission preparation: preparing for flight operations and downloading prerequisite data and software.
  2. Pre-flight preparation: placing base station, securing the take off and landing spot and assembling the UAV.
  3. Mission execution: flight sorties and image acquisition and end of day activities.
  4. Computations: GNSS post processing & computation of trajectories and event positions.
  5. Mission reporting: Quality checks and mission reporting.
  6. Data upload: transfer of aerial image data and associated data files to PLACE’s data repository.
