The aerial image acquisition process comprises a number of steps. These are as follows:
- Mission preparation: preparing for flight operations and downloading prerequisite data and software.
- Pre-flight preparation: placing base station, securing the take off and landing spot and assembling the UAV.
- Mission execution: flight sorties and image acquisition and end of day activities.
- Computations: GNSS post processing & computation of trajectories and event positions.
- Mission reporting: Quality checks and mission reporting.
- Data upload: transfer of aerial image data and associated data files to PLACE’s data repository.
