PLACE only delivers geo-tagged image collections. It does not generate derived products because we want to enable our members to use our data to develop new insights and value added products. We have come to this conclusion for several reasons:
- We want to optimize our value to our members and keep our operational complexity and costs to a minimum.
- We want our members and Government partners to choose what processing they want to do, for which area, at the time they want and according to their needs and specifications.
- We want to serve the best value to our members by putting all our efforts on the quality, accuracy and precision of the data we collect.
- We want to optimize our technology delivery environment so that the data we collect can easily be transformed into analysis ready data (ARD).
- We do not want to compete with the products and services our members may wish to provide to their constituents.
